AUDITION EXCERPTS
Required Audition Excerpts
*Excerpts below are updated for spring/summer 2026 auditions.
Prospective singers for the Cleveland Orchestra Choruses are typically asked to prepare excerpts from a major work, representative of what the chorus may need to prepare in future seasons. Singers are provided with the relevant pages from the score and the same study tracks that chorus members will receive to prepare the work at home. This shows the director the level of your ability to study independently outside of rehearsal.
For spring/summer 2026 auditions, those auditioning for The Cleveland Orchestra Chorus are asked to prepare three excerpts, and those auditioning for the Blossom Festival Chorus are asked to prepare one excerpt. These are in addition to one chosen solo (read more on the Audition Guidelines page).
The required excerpts for both choruses are provided below. If auditioning for BOTH choruses, you should follow the COC guidelines. If you would like to have a printed copy mailed to you, email us at chorus@clevelandorchestra.com.
Music study tracks are provided for each voice part, as well as an accompaniment-only track.
BLOSSOM FESTIVAL CHORUS
Requirements
One solo, in ANY language

CLEVELAND ORCHESTRA CHORUS

One Solo, in English, French, German, or Italian
